Friendship Circle Brooklyn kickstarted its flagship Friends@Home program with two separate volunteer orientations — welcoming a record 250 high school volunteers to its growing community.

The Girls’ Division was greeted with a beautiful chocolate fountain buffet as they entered the Friendship Circle building. The evening began with Tehillim, led by two dedicated school presidents. Mrs. Chani Majesky, director of Friendship Circle Brooklyn, addressed the volunteers, empowering them with the reminder of how meaningful their role is – ensuring that no one in the community feels alone.

The program then featured an engaging panel discussion with the perfect duo: Keyla Prus, FC alumna and past FC president, and Mrs. Chanale Friedman, an FC mom. Together, they shared stories, practical do’s and don’ts, and offered a unique perspective from both the family and volunteer sides of the Friends@Home experience.

Leah Haor, volunteer coordinator, then reviewed the Friends@Home guidelines and policies, preparing the volunteers for a successful and fulfilling year ahead. A big thank you goes to our school presidents for their time, effort, and creativity in preparing such a gorgeous and detailed program!

The boys’ division also celebrated tremendous growth this year, with over 80 bochurim attending their orientation. Between powerful videos highlighting the Rebbe’s perspective on individuals with special needs, Rabbi Berel Majesky and volunteer coordinator Moshe Rubin shared inspiring words about the power of giving — both for the child and the volunteer. The atmosphere was upbeat and electric, as the bochurim left motivated and ready to begin their first visits!
