Friendship Circle Brooklyn Hosts Volunteer Appreciation Event

Share This Story:

On Wednesday afternoon, 170 high school girls from around Crown Heights joined together at the Friendship Circle Center for Family and Friends to celebrate a year of friendship, dedication, and giving.

The garden party opened with Tehillim for Friendship Circle members and their families. A touching video featuring Friendship Circle children and parents created smiles and laughter as families shared what these volunteers have brought into their lives.

Mrs. Chani Majesky, Director of FC, welcomed the volunteers and introduced the evening’s theme, “The Silent Giver.” She spoke about the countless acts of kindness that happen quietly throughout the year – the visits, phone calls, smiles, and friendships that may go unseen by others, but mean the world to the families who receive them.

Friendship Circle member Emma then took the stage, surrounded by the cheers of her volunteers, showing to the crowd what her volunteers mean to her. Volunteers then heard reflections from FC mother Mrs. Tanya Rogalsky, volunteer mother Mrs. Nechamy Rabin, and senior volunteers Bella Hershkop and Basya Vishedsky.

Volunteer Coordinator Leah Lent thanked the volunteers for the care and commitment they bring each week, showing the volunteers what they created by their one hour of visits. (Did you know that Tuesday nights are the most popular nights for Chessed visits?) Then, the school presidents took the stage and completed the night through a song and roll call. Shoutout to Shaina Gourarie, Shaina Shneur, Shaina Sanowicz, Nena Borenstein, and Simi Itkin!

As the evening came to a close, every volunteer received an exclusive 2026 Friendship Circle sweater and a beautiful yearbook filled with memories from the year.

P.S. If you noticed Friendship Circle yard signs around Crown Heights and East Flatbush, be sure to scan the QR code! You’ll hear directly from our volunteers as they share stories, memories, and what being a part of Friendship Circle has meant to them.
