The “Art of Friendship” featuring original artwork created by the children and young adults of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn was open this past Sunday.

After many months of working on these creations, hundreds of people from within and beyond the community came to view the beautiful gallery. The creations were made up of silkscreen paintings, Jewish Still Art and Floral photography.

Guests were treated to show bags as they came, and upon entering the hall enjoyed the delicious spread of food, fine wines and entertainment.

The visionaries behind this unique EmpowerArt program comes from the Bear Givers Foundation, true believers in putting children with special needs in the driver’s seat.

The joy a child gets from seeing his/her piece go from concept, to hanging on a gallery wall – which is then admired by family friends and the greater community, is priceless. This is the driving force behind the Bear Givers mission. Their partnership in this program far exceeds that of a typical partner Mr Joe Sprung and Mrs Diane Lempert are a short phone call away, offering advice and ideas, ensuring the success of the gallery and maximum satisfaction to our young artists. From the creation of the pieces to the production of the final gallery wall, their partnership and commitment to this event was unparalleled.

We thank all those who came to show their support for the Friendship Circle and its members – the artists. Each of the 100+ art pieces were created under the guidance of Chani Fraenkel and Freidel Levin of Mimulo Floral & Event Design whose energy and enthusiasm got the artistic juices flowing, enabling our girls to create gorgeous bouquets which they then photographed under the direction and care of Chana Blumes-Geisinsky of ChanaBlumesPhoto Chaim Perl of Chaim Perl Studios who literally put everything on hold to get this project going. And to the FC volunteers, whom we thank profusely for their genuine care and patience and for bringing out the talents in our special children, making magic happen everyday.

Special thanks to Sheina Chincholker, Esther Rimler and Mushki Tenenbaum of the FCBKLN Office for making this event the success that it was!

The gorgeous Aleph Beis Charts were well received and admired. Perfect for every child’s bedroom, playroom or classroom, the marvelous 20X30 Charts, made up of individual pieces of the art created by members of the Friendship Circle are still available for sale online.
