Vibrant Tishrei at Friendship Circle of Brooklyn’s New Home

Following the recent completion of construction, the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn Center has swiftly transitioned into a thriving community hub. An extensive Tishrei programming schedule successfully transformed the space into a vibrant hub, making it feel like home.

Amongst the many many moments that were witnessed, here are two that stood out:

“If a family needs help getting to Shul to hear the Shofar, I’m happy to help. Let me know.” Prior to Rosh Hashana, an alumna volunteer offered her assistance, asking if a family needs help attending Shul for the Shofar blowing. Arrangements were made, and she accompanied the mother, stroller, and son (in a wheelchair) to Shul, enabling the six-year-old boy’s first-ever Rosh Hashana Shul experience. Although he is young, you can clearly see how his soul is deeply connected to this G-dly energy. He hears the Shofar, takes part in Birchas Kohanim (priestly blessing), his face glowing.

Post Yom Tov, we receive this heartfelt message: “Truly beautiful for our whole family. My daughter wants to know if I can sign her up to come every Shabbos.”

Another meaningful moment unfolded on Shabbos Bereishis. Men from the local HASC residence shared excitedly that last year’s volunteers, now studying out of town, surprised them with a Succos visit. The trio danced, sang and brought immense joy.

These stories illustrate a profound truth: our volunteers’ passion for giving knows no bounds. They actively seek opportunities to continue spreading joy.

We could share countless more stories, but for now, we’ll pause here. We hope these moments warmed your heart as they did ours.
