Shabbat shalom dear friends !<br />
We are back at our Erev Shabbos deliveries!

It was so nice to get back together with our Young Moms. It’s been SO long and every day has felt like a million years. This support group uplifts, strengthens and connects our mothers in an amazing way. It gives them the chance to connect with others in similar situations, network and sort through the myriad of options and decisions they need to make daily and nourishes the bodies and souls of all who join. <br />

It's been a long few months for everyone. <br />
For our special families it's been even longer. Dealing with a new reality like this with limited support, no schooling, setbacks and no schedule; life has been hard.<br />
There was one little light at the end of the tunnel that they had to look forward to - summer camps. Overnight and day camp. Now, that is in jeopardy too and the daunting challenge of having their child home a whole summer is overwhelming. These children need their fresh air, summer activities and their families need a chance to breathe.<br />

I called TJ's today to find out if I can bring my son with me into the store. The gentleman that answered responded "Sure, but he will need to wear a mask". Sigh. I explained to the man on the other end of the call that my son is autistic and having him wear a mask would be no easy feat. He politely put me on hold as he wanted to ask the store manager what to do. A few minutes later I hear; "Hi, my name is Ari and my managers name is Angelica. You are more than welcome to bring your son into the store but he will need to stay in the shopping cart. To my surprise, he then continued: "If it is simpler for you, you are welcome to wait at the entrance with him and give us your shopping list. I am happy to do the shopping for you. You're also welcome to start shopping and if your son starts to get frustrated or overwhelmed, I can take over and do the rest of your shopping for you."<br />

Thank you Trader Joes for taking care of our dear families. You have shown us, once again, how beautiful humanity can be.

Friendship Circle of Brooklyn has partnered with Chani Greenbaum Events to start a new community initiative to benefit mothers of children with special needs. Bouquets of flowers are available for purchase through Flowers of Friendship - to brighten up a Friendship Circle mother’s day. Each bouquet of flowers will be delivered by a FC teen volunteer.<br />
<br />
During this uncertain time, parents of children with special needs are working harder than ever - acting as therapists, nurses and all the other 'jobs' that have fallen into their laps. For some moms, Covid-19 means being separated from their immunocompromised child for fear of spreading this virus to them; for others, it may mean that reaching a goal (like toilet training or speaking) that they had been working on for months, together with their individualized team, has been put on hold.<br />
<br />
Every family has a different story, but there is one thing we know for sure: Friendship Circle moms are working HARD! Show these supermoms some love by sending a beautiful bouquet of flowers to their home.<br />

To take part in this initiative, visit fcbrooklyn.com/flowers. Orders must be placed before 3:00 PM on Thursday every week, to guarantee delivery for Shabbos.
